This association is founded upon the noble principle of Islamic Shura, as ordained in the Holy Qur’an. In Verse 38 of Surah Ash-Shura (council), AFMA embodies a commitment to collective decision-making with mutual respect and the welfare of the Muslim community.
Significant Milestone
On 31st October 2024, AFMA reached a key milestone by purchasing a 10,254 sq. m. property at 29 Lewis Road, Wattle Grove, Western Australia. The site will be developed into a modern masjid and Islamic centre, serving as a hub for religious, educational, and community activities. Currently, the masjid operates from temporary structures on the property, providing essential services to the community.
Land Approval
The Western Australia Planning Commission (WAPC) has formally approved the property for worship, marking a major step in AFMA’s vision for a comprehensive Islamic Centre and Mosque. The City of Kalamunda has also permitted religious activities on this land. Discussions with the City Council are ongoing, and the mosque design is progressing.
